Fishing Report

Happy Fourth of July!

We’re looking forward to a great week of fishing. The weather looks great, and the tides are lining up nicely. The river has been and should continue to fish well, there has been consistent surface action at first light with fish feeding on small herring, and also on some very small bait. Our top producing lures have been Albi Snax XL’s, Al Gag’s Paddle Tails and some custom Bucktail Jigs. We are also having success with spook style Topwater plugs, best so far has been the Hydro Pencil and those made by Two Lights Tackle. We are also seeing fish holding on the jetties, they have been happy to take an artificial early on, but once the sun is high and if no clouds are present the best method has been either trolling a tube and worm, or drifting live mackerel down the rocks.

Catching bait has not been an issue as of late, mackerel can be found at all the local hot spots.

The night bite has been good as well, your best bet will be to work the ledges and beaches with either a live eel, metal lip swimmer, or Gravity Tackle Eel. If you’re looking for a more relaxed pace, chunking with mackerel, clams or pogies will be your best bet.

We are looking good at the moment and with the July new moon approaching things should really shape up!

Good luck out there and reach out with any questions or inquiries!

Happy Independence Day!
